Sharon Douglas has a Masters in Education from the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa and worked in leadership and professional skills development in the corporate sector prior to studying transpersonal psychology and related disciplines such as Esalen Massage and astrology at numerous world-renowned holistic centres such as Findhorn in Scotland and Esalen in Big Sur, California.
Sharon is particularly interested in women in mythology and the creation and understanding of a personal story through interpretative tools such as astrology and art. Her work includes creative counselling and astrological interpretation for individuals or couples. Much of her time is spent writing as creative therapy as well as for magazines such as Femina and Mountain Astrologer.
Sharon lives with her husband Neil on the Hawaiian island Kauai where they own and manage Kauai Tree Houses. Her favourite pastime includes long strolls on her favourite beaches such as Pekala and Mahalepu and “plorking” – a blend of play and work with women’s groups as part of personal growth.
Through the creation of Haipule (Hawaiian for “dreaming a new reality into being”) Sharon works with individuals and groups to gain clarity of purpose, set goals, process obstacles and make decisions in times of transition. She uses tools such as astrology, creative writing, art and storytelling in this process.
